JU BCL branch welcomed the FY2019-20 budget by a procession

Jahangirnagar University branch of BCL has  welcomed the announcement of the 2019-20 national budget and made a procession on Friday,14th June 2019.

The procession came out at the university’s transport premises and ended up with a brief in the main gate of the university, after crossing the important roads of the campus.

Leaders and activists of different halls took part in the procession led by BCL President Md. Jewel Rana.

Md. Jewel Rana said, “This budget is the biggest budget in the history of the country. We welcome the budget for education, agriculture and development of people’s. We believe our country will be transformed into a more advanced country for implementing the development-oriented budget led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh Chhatra League will be with the government to support the budget.

It is the biggest-ever national budget proposed in Bangladesh’s history – amounting to a whopping Tk523,190 crore.The FY2019-20 budget is the 48th national budget in Bangladesh and the 20th formulated by an Awami League government and Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal’s first budget.The proposed budget aims at collecting Tk377,810 crore as revenue in the new fiscal year.Of the amount, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been tasked to collect Tk325,600 crore, while non-NBR revenue collection target has been set at Tk14,500 crore. The non-collection target is Tk37,710 crore.Tk4,168 crore will come from foreign grants.
