Dhaka signs 5 deals with Thimphu

Bangladesh and Kingdom of Bhutan yesterday inked 5 deals covering turning away of double taxation, agriculture, standardisation of products, cultural cooperation and waterways property.
Diplomatic sources aforesaid capital of Bangladesh allowed transit to Kingdom of Bhutan to use its waterways for transportation of products on cargoes foreign through city and Mongla seaports.
The 3 memorandums of understanding and 2 agreements would boost the bilateral ties between the 2 countries, adscititious the sources.
The deals were signed at the Royal Banquet Hall of Gyalyong Tshogkhang yesterday once the official talks between the 2 countries.

The MoU between Agriculture and Food administrative body (BAFRA) of the Bhutanese agriculture ministry, and Bangladesh’s Department of Agricultural Extension was signed by Namgay Wangchuk, director general of BAFRA.
The agreement on turning away of Double Taxation and bar of business Evasion with regard to Taxes on financial gain was inked by table game Dorji, finance secretary of Kingdom of Bhutan.
The agreement on cultural cooperation was signed by Bhutanese Foreign Secretary Sonam Tshong.
The two countries inked the MoU on Use of upcountry Waterways for Transportation of Bilateral Trade and Transit Cargoes.
The other MoU between Kingdom of Bhutan customarys Bureau (BSB) and Asian nation Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) was signed by Sonam Phuntsho, director general of BSB.
PMO Senior Secretary Suraiya Islamist, Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and Director General (South Asia wing) of the Foreign Ministry Monowar Hossain signed the agreements and MoUs on behalf of Asian nation.
