JU VC backed teachers observe mute procession

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) backed Teachers of Jahangirnagar University(JU) observed a silent procession protesting the allegation of corruption against VC and her family members on Monday on the campus.

Under the banner of “Bangabandhu Shikkhok Parishad” the procession started at the Social science building at around 11.30 pm and ended with a short gathering in front of the old register building after parading the main streets of the campus.

Addressing the rally, Jahangirnagar University Teachers’ Association (JUTA) President Professor Ajit Kumar Majumder, said, “we have invited to discuss to solve the present crises and to implement the mega project, but allegation of corruption in this time is nothing but a conspiracy for hampering the project.”

Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, president of the “Bangabandhu Shikkhok Parishad” said, “none can be hindrance for the implementation of the development project if the administration can handle the situations in strict hand. JU VC has appointed for the second time for her efficiency in every administrative work. So, better development can be expected from her without any corruption.”

Acting dean of the faculty of Social Science Professor Rasheda Akhtar, General Secretary of the “Bangabandhu Shikkhok Parishad” Basir Ahmed, Alamgir Kabir of Statistics department were present at the procession, among others.
