12 disappear as vessel with 1,050MT coal overturns in Bay of Bengal

Twelve teams of a coal-loaded lighter vessel disappeared as the water vehicle upset close to the Sangu Gas Field in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday morning.

Ataul Karim, an authority of Water Transport Cell, a private association that allots lighter vessels said the vessel, Hera Parbat-8, sank into the Bay in Chattogram with around 1,050 tons of coal around 8:30am.

The vessel was en route to Dhaka subsequent to stacking coal from a mother vessel from the external harbor of the port, Ataul included.

Afterward, a break was created in the vessel and it in the long run sank. Twelve team individuals had been absent from that point forward.
