Nat’l Math Olympiad begins at JU

A three daylong ‘6th National Math Olympiad-2019′ began today at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.

Holding the slogan ‘Vabna Jodi Ganit Hoy, Ganit Niye Kiser Voy’, Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), the lone science-based organization of the university organized the programme for the sixth time in a row.

Convener of the Olympiad, Tarek Aziz Srabon disclosed made the disclosure of the event at a press meet held at the office of Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JUJA) on Wednesday afternoon.

‘This year, around 5000 students of Class VI to XII from over 200 schools and colleges across the country will participate in the contest. First 10 students from each class will be awarded’, he said.

‘We will give life-time award to noted scientist Maksudul Alam for his contribution to invent the genome of jute. Besides, we will also be awarded Information Minister Khandakar Hasan Mahmud this year’, he added.
State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Enamur Rahman will be expected to inaugurate first-day programme.

Participants will have to answer 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in the contest.

The tree-day programme will be featured as inaugural session, scientific movie show and prize-giving ceremony and award.
The three-day programme will end on October 21.
