Scroll painting showed at Dhaka-Aricha Highway

A four-member representative group of ‘Jahangirnagar against Corruption’ has submitted a written allegation along with the documents of seventy pages against Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University Professor Farzana Islam on Friday night.
Professor Tareq Reza, Associate Professor Hasan Mahmud, Professor Mostafizur Rahman Chayan, and Professor Fazlul Karim Patwary were the member of representative group. They submitted the documents against JU VC to the personal secretary of Education Minister Dr. Alim Khan at his residence.
Their six pages’ complaint paper were included with around 23 points allegations against the Vice Chancellor. The key allegations were included with giving huge amount of money to BCL from the construction companies, different elections including VC panel, senate, syndicate and dean elections, corruption of VC’s husband, son and personal secretary, unfair investigation committee that was formed cantering controversial issues, unfair appointments in teachers and officials and other some former irregularities, source said.
Besides, the 70 pages’ documents were included with the news cutting related to different irregularities and corruption and some official proves. Besides, they had submitted some conversations with the BCL leaders regarding the transaction of money.
‘We have submitted the documents of tender snatching of the development project, the corruption of VC’s personal secretary, giving money to the Chhatra League, giving Ph.D degree and scholarship to VC’s husband, and other former irregularities, corruption and nepotism against Professor Farzana Islam ‘, said a representative of the group Professor Tareq Reza.
‘Besides, we have submitted the documents of conversation between the BCL leaders about the corruption, where many of them confess that they got money from the Vice Chancellor’, he added.
Meanwhile, in a reaction of the speech of Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, a demonstration teacher Professor Khondokar Hasan Mahmud said, ‘Our documents are enough to prove Professor Farzana is corrupted if the investigation is fare. Government will take initiative in this regard as soon as possible’.
Earlier, the education minister and the deputy education minister had urged to the protester to submit all the documents and written allegation against JU VC Professor Farzana Islam to the education ministry, saying they would take action against VC if the allegation is proved.
Meanwhile, as part of the preannounced program the protesters brought out protest rally with the scroll painting on Saturday from the new arts building and ended at the ‘VC removal Mancha’ adjacent to the old administration building. The protesters went to the Dhaka-Aricha highway and stayed for a while to show the scroll paintings to the mass people.
The new protest program will be announced earlier, they said.
