Shabana Azmi’s mom Shaukat Kaifi dies at 93

Veteran entertainer and Shabana Azmi’s mom Shaukat Kaifi died in Mumbai of India on Friday evening because of age-related sickness at 93 years old, reports PTI.

Kaifi’s child in-law, veteran author lyricist Javed Akhtar, affirmed the updates on the passing of the theater and film on-screen character.

“She was 93 and was having one issue after another. She was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. For specific days she was in the ICU and afterward she was out of ICU. It was all age-related,” he said.

“At last they brought her home. She needed to return to her very own room where she remained for a day or two and afterward died. Shabana is in Mumbai,” Akhtar, who is in the US, told columnists.

The last ceremonies will be hung on Saturday early afternoon.
