Around 50 understudies and an instructor were harmed as the broken down top of a shelter collapsed alongside them in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur on Saturday night.
Twelve of the harmed – Sihab, 14, Ainuddin, Nahid, 13, Sabbir, 13, Ibrahim, 13, Tariqul Islam, 13, Abdul Aziz, 13, Sajib, 15, Abdullah, 14, Rahman, 15, Nahid, 14, and Senior Assistant Moulvi Mohammad Hossain, 50 – were experiencing treatment at the General Hospital.
Twenty-five unfortunate casualties took treatment Matlab Uttar Upazila Health Complex while some others at Matbal South Upazila Health Complex.
In the interim, Siam, 10, who was harmed fundamentally, was alluded to Dhaka for better treatment.
Md Masud Al, a second year understudy of Farazikandi Alia Madrasa at Farazi Complex, said separate groups of Farazikandi Al-Amin Orphanage participate in the Victory Day marches at the National Parade Ground, Chandpur Stadium and on the upazila parishad premises each year on December 16.
As a component of the arrangements, more than 100 understudies went to the housetop of the structure where their group head Mohammad Hossain was making a rundown of the potential members.

Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Md Majedur Rahman Khan, Additional DC Mohammad Shawkat Osman, Superintendent of Police Md Mahbubur Rahman and Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Matlab Uttar Sharmin Akhter visited the spot and the unfortunate casualties at emergency clinics.
Shawkat Osman said the halfway house building was proclaimed deserted after the mishap.
