No dissent over RTA till June 30: Shahjahan Khan

Asking the specialists to evacuate ‘imperfections’ from the Road Transport Act inside June 30 one year from now, Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation President Shajahan Khan said they will abstain from proclaiming any dissent program during the period.

He made the divulgence while conversing with columnists in the wake of going to a gathering with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in city’s Dhanmondi on Saturday night.

“There are a few ambiguities or irregularities in the Road Transport Act. We will comply with the law if these blemishes are fixed. We are giving time until June 30 one year from now. No dissent program will be announced during this time. However, exacting advances will be taken if our requests are not met inside the period,” he said.

Home Minister reverberated his past articulation, saying drivers will be permitted to utilize their ebb and flow licenses until June 30. They should gather proper permit meanwhile.

BRTA will made fundamental course of action in such manner, the pastor stated, including “we will think about certain issues during the period”.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman met the Federation heads at 9pm on Saturday. The gathering finished at 12 PM.

Mir Shahidul Islam, Additional Inspector General of Special Branch Police, Md Shafiqul Islam, DMP chief, among others, were available at the gathering.
