Finish repairing highways a week before Eid: Ministry

DHAKA: The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has taken wide initiatives to ensure smooth journey of holidaymakers during upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

As part of the initiatives, the officials concerned have been given a set of 32-point directives. 

The engineers concerned have been ordered to make the road repairing works done seven days prior to the Eid day.

The order, signed by Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) Assistant Secretary Liakat Ali, was sent to the engineers on May 9.

The ministry, in its website, issued the same directives to make the commuting smooth during Eid.

Forming vigilance teams of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), transport owners and the staff also have been ordered, vowing to keep the three main bus terminals in Dhaka effective.
