King-Queen election held at JU

Jubo and Shyma were elected king-queen for the 41th rag day of Jahangirnagar University(JU) through an election yesterday.

The election was held at the university`s central students union(JUCSU) building with a cheerful environment.

All the students of 41th batch of JU were the voter of the election and the voting continued from 9am to 5 pm.Later,The chief election commissioner Dipankar das published the result of the election at 11pm.

Arman khan Jubo of Bangla department was elected king getting 641 vote where the total voter was 1208.His candidate Siam of Archeology Department got 562 vote.

Shyma Bhattacharya of drama and dramatics department got the post of queen getting 628 vote.On the contrary,her only one candidate Iffat Jahan Khan Nova of English department got 580 vote.

Rag 41’s chief election commissioner Dipankar Das confirmed it to Alltimenews.com.

Abdur Rahim Jewel,convener of rag 41, said,”All efforts were made to organize Rag festival in the last week of July. This year’s Rag festival will be colourful as usual.”
