JU Public Health dept. Be Promoted To Dengue Testing

Public Health and Informatics (PHI) department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has taken initiatives for identifying dengue virus among the students of the university.

Volunteer students of the department will help the university’s central authorities to measure dengue virus, said Chairman of the department Associate Professor Taj Uddin Shikder at a press conference that was held at the seminar room of the department on Monday.

‘We have formed a ‘Dengue Prevention Cell’ under our department. They will primarily conduct test of dengue virus among the students. We are just doing such activities for the social responsibilities’, he said.

‘Now we are enabled for testing NS1 of about 1000 of students and officials in this university that will begin on Monday afternoon’, he added.

Assistant Professor Jebunnesa Jeba, Dr Subrina Munajilin and Mahmudur Rahman and around 50 students of the department were present at the press meet.

Meanwhile,the administration has taken the action of cleaning the campus and made a 10 membered committee of preventing dengue epidemic.
